Vibrant and historic neighborhood imbued with community spirit

Albany and North Albany are the county seat of Lynn County and are nestled in the Willamette Valley, where the Calapooia and Willamette Rivers meet. In the early 1850s, various parts of the area served as winter and summer villages for the local Native people. As more settlers arrived, the area flourished, further boosted by the opening of the Oregon and California Railroad in 1871. As in the past, Albany remains an essential economic, social, and commercial center for the Willamette Valley.

Today, this community is an easygoing area with historic charm. Locals appreciate the small-town feel while experiencing the vibrant, newly reconstructed downtown life. The neighborhood’s location, about one hour west to the coast, north to Portland, and just a bit further north to the Cascades, gives residents limitless options for spending their leisure time.

One will find stunning views in every direction. This neighborhood houses over 800 historical buildings, including elegant Queen Anne, Italianate, and Craftsman homes. One has a view of the Coast Range Mountains on two sides, and the city is surrounded by some of the most idyllic countryside in Oregon.
